Christiana Chinwe Okechukwu, Ph.D.

Dr. Christiana Chinwe Okechukwu is an acclaimed Nigerian author, educator, and Founder of the Inwelle Study and Resource Centre. With more than four decades of experience in academia, leadership development, and community empowerment, she has dedicated her life to advancing education, promoting gender equality, and creating opportunities for marginalized girls and young women.
As Executive Director of Inwelle Centre, she has helped transform the lives of more than 9,000 girls through innovative educational and skills-development programs, established learning centers across Nigeria, and represented women and youth issues at numerous international forums, including the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women.
A respected scholar and professor, Dr. Okechukwu holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric from the Catholic University of America and has published novels, folktales, poetry collections, scholarly works, and children’s books. Her writing draws deeply from African culture, folklore, social justice, and the resilience of women facing adversity.
